If you're the kind of person often overheard ranting about "proper British food" then we've got a real treat for you.
With an abundance of fresh, sustainably sourced fish and thoroughly British meat making up the simple yet appealing menu, it's clear that the focus here is on the food. That being said, the neat white tiled walls and classic gold detailing add to the Market’s case in becoming a new favourite Kings Road haunt - the dimly lit, design-led interior just begs to be Instagrammed.
The open-hatch kitchen is a great touch, complete with market style fish counter from which you can choose the evening’s dish. Follow our lead and opt for the tantalising grilled tiger prawns – pleasingly fresh and cooked to perfection - or the 28 day matured Ribeye if you're feeling particularly carnivorous.Amp up the comfort factor with creamy truffle mash; it’s not to be missed.
Elsewhere, the establishment harks back to it's public house past and houses a long, brass bar, upon which your elegantly blended (and reasonably priced) cocktails will be placed. A great spot to perch and watch the world go by.
Top table: Next to the market-style fish counter, unless of course you're adverse to sea-dwellers, in which case, close to the bar.
Dress code: Whether old Sloane or boho queen, slip on whatever you’re comfortable in.
