London, England

Following an all-encompassing renovation project, The Lanesborough has opened its doors once again. A vision in marble and gold leaf, this iconic grande dame is just a stone’s throw from Knightsbridge and remains one of London’s most esteemed Regency landmarks.

Each of the 93 rooms and suites is dressed in jewel tones, adorned with hand-stencilled wood panelling and hung with original 18th-century artworks, while the toiletries in the bathrooms come courtesy of master perfumer Roja Dove. Unmistakably British with true period flair, attention to detail here is second to none.

Headed up by Florian Favario, the stand-out restaurant, Céleste, is sensational from the carefully curated gourmet dishes to the rich décor. Light floods in through the domed glass roof, creating an ever-changing spectacle as it illuminates the bas-relief friezes below.

Whether for traditional afternoon tea or a fairy-tale weekend in the city, The Lanesborough fits the bill and does so with notable panache.
