Deep South cooking in an occult-cum-abattoir setting? This is a burger joint with a difference. Dark and just a tad disturbing, the décor isn’t to everybody’s taste, but go with the flow and it’ll soon be your choice spot for post-work burgers and a strong libation or four. Try the Martinezita out for size or get fruity with a frozen Margarita.

Enough about drinks, the burgers are the main event here. From the classic Meatburger to the double-layer Dead Hippie, they’re all mouth-wateringly good and come cushioned inside the firmest buns you could think of. The big, fluffy onion rings and chilli cheese fries were our pick of the sides but the deep fried pickles (served with a tangy blue cheese dip) are a good shout too. Don’t let the epic queue deter you; it’s well worth the wait.
