After pulling off the chaotic winding road that spans the Amalfi Coast and carefully navigating the rather unique tree lined drive down the almost vertical cliff face, stepping out in to the sun drenched surroundings of Casa Angelina takes on an altogether other-worldly feel. Gone are the crowds, gone are the sharp horns of motorbikes and coaches and gone are your earthly stresses.
Along with your worries, your luggage is second to evaporate, only to reappear neatly in the pared-back quarters of your choice. While the formalities of travel paperwork are filed, the perpetually accommodating staff ply you with fresh fruit infused water most likely as a safeguard to the inevitable swooning caused by the view.
Next it's through to the guest lounge that also doubles up as a gallery. The polished wood floors may play host to some fantastical glass creations but the real beauty is happening all around them. Each window provides another glimpse at the awe-inspiring surroundings, from the rippling azure waters to the lemon trees gently dancing in the ocean breeze, any sun worshippers will of course spy the sky blue Etro towels covering inviting pool-side loungers.
Although the terrace pool will likely be a second home to most visitors, it is of course the suites and rooms that come first. The perfectly white interiors let the vistas do the talking and the carefully constructed furnishings act as a subtle nod to the futuristic class that Casa Angelina has so perfectly captured. Speaking of details, along with the L'Occitane toiletries, each individual room has been scented with one of Casa's own fragrances, these are available to purchase and are a unique sensory reminder of your utopian adventure.
Of course you're at Casa Angelina to chill out but if you can find time in your hectic schedule of relaxation to squeeze in a visit to the gym then you will be rewarded by the most visually arresting fitness centre we've laid eyes upon. Much like the gallery, the interior is reminiscent of yacht decor although this time the view acts as something of a motivator as opposed to an artwork.
Best room: With over 60sqm to swoon, dance and sing we'd have to recommend the Junior Suite, the B&O TV, Apple Mac and quite frankly, jaw-dropping view will have you starry eyed from start to finish.
Dress code: Unstructured comfort-focussed cuts for both sexes, white is the colour of choice, naturally.
