Hidden along the leafy Gallery Road in Dulwich and disguised as a beautiful Georgian mansion, Belair House is not the kind of place you’d expect to find a stylish cocktail bar. The décor is inspired by the Gatsby vintage vibe that hit town last year; crystal chandeliers hang from the high ceilings, red carpets wind up the stairways and the beautiful copper bar stands out for its elegance.

Behind the bar, head bartender Pasqaule Ciose and his team of mixologists are shaking up some incredible combinations. They cover all the classics but it’s best to experience one of their own creations like a twist on a White Russian served up in a popcorn holder or their Full English Martini served with a side of toast, homemade marmalade and bacon.

Inside track

Best seat in the house: If the sun is shining, the patio terrace is a great spot to enjoy some alfresco drinking while taking in the beautiful view across Belair Park.

Dress code: During the day it’s casual chic but at night vintage glamour is the name of the game.
